BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA AND THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

˛. CONTRACTUAL AND LEGAL BASIS

1. The agreement between the government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the United Arab Emirates about air messages between and beyond their relevant territories – November 29, 1989, signed in Sofia, in force after exchange of diplomatic notes. Approved with a decision of the Ministerial Council No. 143 / July 16, 1990.

2. Joint communique about the establishment of diplomatic relations at the level “ambassador” between the Republic of Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates, October 19, 1991.

Bulgarian state has handed drafts of Commercial Agreement, Agreement about Mutual Protection and Encouragement of Investments and Agreement about Avoiding Double Taxation.

˛˛. REVIEW OF EOCNOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN BULGARIA AND UAE

Commercial and economic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and UAE date from 1971, but get a constant character after 1975.

In the end of 1982, in Dubai was opened a Bulgarian Trade Center, which coordinated commercial activity.

The center was closed in 1992 and at present we have a General consulate in UAE.
